Update: District 10 chooses Melancon!
I want to let the voters of District 10 know how honored and humbled I am by the support they showed and the faith they have put in me to be a leader who will help lead Ascension Parish into the future with integrity and the best interest of all Ascension residents in mind. If I was not able to meet you face-to-face while campaigning I truly look forward to the chance to meet you soon and be face that is familiar to everyone in the district.
Stay tuned here as I will try to keep the site updated and let everyone know when I can get some townhalls scheduled in different areas of the district to get a true pulse of the residents and what issues they feel are most important for the council to tackle over the next four years.
Let’s move this parish forward together!
A letter from the candidate
As a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish it has always given me great pride and pleasure to be a part of an area that is known for its great rural characteristics, family values, and very friendly community. It is an honor for our beloved Ascension to be regarded as one of the top parishes to live in Louisiana, if not the country. Of course, the residents of Ascension know all too well that this honor does have a downside. It can bring with it explosive growth at a rate that can be very difficult to manage.
Ascension Parish continues to be one of the fastest growing parishes/counties in the country and it is imperative that we commit to developing feasible solutions to upgrade our infrastructure to not only meet today’s needs, but also accommodate the inevitable future growth. The time for the politics of the past has come to a close. If we desire to remain the vibrant, attractive community we have long been known for, we must do so with leaders that are willing to put ego aside, listen to the will of the people they serve, and make decisions on a common sense plan for growth that can and will be followed to eliminate these same growing pains from reoccurring.
I give you my word that I will be that type of leader and I will work to bridge the government, business, and private sectors to develop those solutions.
I humbly ask for your vote October 22nd as your Parish Councilman for District 10.
